Firesticks partners are working to implement integrated fire, environmental weed and vertebrate pest management approaches to improve and link areas of important habitat and improve biodiversity and cultural values across landscapes. Minyumai IPA rangers have conducted site preparation and restoration actions over the past year as part of the contractual agreement on their IPA near Evans Head, NSW.
Activities performed by Minyumai IPA rangers and staff include:
- Continued monitoring of survey plots
- Preparation of monitoring plots for burning later this year
- Continuation of setaria trials using spray and burn techniques
- Survey and mapping of the condition of existing fire trails
The following gallery shows some of the activities carried out by the rangers over the past year.
