Victor Steffensen from Cape York will be presenting at the Introduction to Indigenous Fire Management Community Forum held in Mandalong in the Hunter Valley on the 25th May 2016. The workshop is free and the discussion will focus on Indigenous fire management in a contemporary environment. Subjects addressed at the forum will include how to evaluate different sites, read country for traditional use and respect country, conduct a burn, learn country type, ignition points, times, and the right burns for the right country, post burn assessments monitoring, recording, and ongoing application of Indigenous fire programs.
