As a part of the Firesticks program a team of visual communication design researchers from the University of Technology in Sydney (UTS) have been supporting the program through the development of a visual language and design elements that are used by the Firesticks team in communicating with partners and the wider public.

The UTS team entered some of their work into the 2014 International Institute of Information Design (IIID) Awards and we are happy to announce that they have received a Silver placement in both the Sustainability and Social Affairs categories.

The UTS team members are: Jacqueline Gothe, Lyndal Harris, Mitra Gusheh and Clement Girault. Their work involves ongoing consultation with partners in the development of the Firesticks website, template design for reports, template production and facilitation for fire poster plans, technical support for video and ongoing training for web content and management.

Firesticks congratulate and celebrate the UTS teams hard work and support and look forward to more award winning collaboration into the future.
