Working with Firesticks Casino Boolangle Local Area Land Council (LALC) is considering projects on various properties. Following site visits to Dobies Bight, Busby’s Flat and Wyan in May 2014 it was suggested that Dobies Bight presents an opportunity to manage an area of high conservation value that is easily accessible from Casino. Following a walk on country with representatives from Casino Boolangle LALC and Firesticks looking at key values, threats and a brief assessment on areas that were sprayed for lantana many years ago. Lantana was the main identified threat and suggestions to undertake spraying in a few strategic areas (close to roadside) and then burn later on were discussed.
